We have to start on 600 and 290 shortly, came across a commercial cabinet on one of the two a few weeks ago.

Its going to be more common as time goes on.

Actually,i don't wanna know about it.....

I am just hanging around waiting for the sack

We still service one, hopefully that will make you feel younger

A little cabinet, forced draft 3 door freezer, old Repco coil, with a Danfoss sealed unit.Still going fine.

We used to do cascades(i think they were called) years ago,r502 and r12,-80 freezers, now that makes me feel old.

The R502 condenser was a temprite cooled by another system on R12.

Little copeland semi on R502,the old Kelvinater S50/50 sealed unit on R12.

They refuse to recognise NSW quals, but I can work in NSW, the ACT, Vic and SA all day long plying my trade. Not sure about Tassie?

I'm also not allowed to touch any refrigeration containing R290 or R600, they require a Gas Fitters licence, but I can work on and repair that gear in any other state legally. Bear in mind gas fitters know nothing about refrigeration and deal with low pressures.
I'm buggered if I know where they stand on R32?
    Go figure.....
How good are we as a nation at getting uniformity across states! 😆😆😆

    Gav,all packaged together,imported complete.

They have been told, don't worry, see what happens, but yes, wouldn't pass at all.
The earth is green with yellow stripe.

There is three of them on the site,16 refrigeration systems in total.
They wouldn’t have a chance at installing a system like that in Vic. It would collect dust until it rusted away down here without ever making a sound. And if you did find something like that actually operating, one phone call to ESV would have it switched off by the supply Authority within hours never to run again.

Hahaha, But I bet the boys refuse to let you go, no matter how bad your behaviour!

All the Aldi freezers are R290, so far we've only needed to replace boards and fan motors.

I thought I might have to charge a CO2 rack a few weeks back.
    I was ****ting myself!
Guess who's had no CO2 training yet?

Are they Carrier compressors, or Chinese copies? What about the condensers? Appears to be water cooled, and if it is a complete package I guess the rest of the pumps etc. are of the same "standard".

    Nice!

I had to decommission a bunch of R12 constant rooms at the CSIRO when I was in Canberra.
Old Kelvinator 75/75's and Pancakes with Muller Radial FDC's!
They'd been untouched since commissioning in the mid seventies.

They have quite a few -80 cabinets but an old Trane tech has the market cornered on Cascades, flies all over the country servicing them.

Muller radials, they were very popular in the pubs and clubs up here, haven't seen one for years.

    CO2,whats that??

Chinese Bitzers out of the genuine Chinese Bitzer factory, with economisers, compresser subcooling, etc.

The modern -80 cabinets use weird mixes of refrigerants.

We have a few on some jobs but don't work on them, leave that up to the experts, although finding the so called experts on them is getting more and more difficult.

Yep, weird refrigerants, if one in Canberra needs work Scoop takes it to Sydney to service in a controlled atmosphere room!!
He's a good bloke but is looking at retirement, he sounded me out about getting involved but what he didn't realise was I had a Canberra exit strategy!
