'Whiter Shade of Pale' by Procol Harem. Great music, lyrics don't make any sense.and according to the writer wasn't intended to do so, which I kind of find amusing now.
Used to snog the young ladies in the back seat of the old Ford Zephyr to that song in the 1970's,thinking it had some deep sensuous meaning. Still, it often gave the desired result
Another but more obscure oldy that i have come to like relatively recently is 'When I was Young' by Eric Burden and The Animals. The black and white Battle of Britain footage of the accompaying video clip was unique and suited the song for me.
    Bill.

Ooh, forgot the Australian one. 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' by Billy Thorpe. Although he was really a Brit anyway.

International...Wish you were hear, Pink Floyd

Aus'...It's a toss up between Flame Trees Working Class Man and Breakfast at Sweethearts by Cold Chisel.

But geez how do you narrow it down to just one or two, would be intersting to see the top 2 favourites for each decade, we could all see who has matured or just living in denial

Were there really any songs or music produced in any decade after the 1970's?

You are spot on here, it is hard. So Kev, start a new thread with your own parameters. I will happily add my input.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

    Best Ever Songs.

International best song, too many to choose, Stones, Small Faces, Zeppelin, Procol Harum, maybe Beatles "Strawberry Fields"

Australian song, "The Loved One" by The Loved Ones sung by the charismatic Gerry Humphries and written in 9/4 time.
