Same here. Bought an "OEM" oil pressure switch for the D1, which turned out to be a Britpart one. It snapped before I had even tightened it up.![]()
When they struggle with simple things like a front camshaft seal on a Td5 you have to wonder. The Britpart replacement I was sold on the basis of it being "good quality" was loose and leaking worse that the one it replaced in under 10 months.

Slightly off subject but I have just started buying from Britcar (UK) Ltd
They sell cheap stuff but also supply OEM that is much cheaper than the stuff you get in Australia
No issues with quality yet I was using Paddocks but they were getting silly with postage prices
I had the same experience with a coolant temp sender - Britpart but bought from somewhere else. My rant here lasted less than a day. I did forget to specify brand preference in my last parts order but none of them were moving or precision parts so I might be lucky. Normally I do ask.
I did make a post about similar things previously. As people need to be aware, that "OEM" does not necessarily mean "Genuine" factory fitment. If you are looking for "Genuine" then you should look for items listed as "Genuine".
Items manufactured for fitting in the factory are sometimes made to proprietary specifications. And the same supplier of the parts is then required to change the specifications if they wish to make a similar item for sale as a replacement part. The said company is still an OEM,but the parts they sell as the replacement item is of different specification from the "Genuine" factory item.Bushes and brake pads are 2 of the items that regularly fall into this category, often with less than good results.

I do appreciate that when buying a $30 rubber set (including postage from UK) that I expect it to be Britpart,
but when paying $180 plus $17.60 postage from a trusted local seller & listed as OEM I would expoect it to by QUALITY OEM but not necessearily Genuine Land Rover.
Im glad you all can see where I'm coming from, and a bit surprised that I've still not got a response from seller.
here is a cut and paste from the actual ad

"...All parts are from the original equipment manufacturer to Land Rover, this ensures you of Genuine Quality at a lower price..."
To me, this means 'Britpart' is the manufacturer that makes the parts and sells these to Land Rover.... and the SAME (quality) part is being offered for sale at around half the price of a genuine "Land Rover" part.
Or Britpart buys them and re-packages in their blue bags...
Interesting to hear what 'Britpart' would say about their source.
Whatever, I'd be inclined to deem them as 'Not as Described'.
Incidently, I bought a cheap idle stepping motor for my 3.9 Evilbay and a seller who specialises in air-flow componentry, so you'd hope they were on top of quality issues. Well, the body shattered as I was screwing it in, very glad there was something to grip to extract. - Very thin aluminium casting... $17 to return it for a replacement...
To be picky, it should read 'assures' instead of 'ensures'

I end up not using and sending back some Britpart bits I receive from my mainland suppliers, some are Genuine / OEM, some are not. Unfortunately I am having to ask now about what is being sent. it didn't used to be like this.
At the coal face, I have to decide what I use and what I don't.

I made the 1 millionth AULRO post
We got stung with a D1 water pump from the same seller. Britpart box arrived, and upon inspection the replacement unit was visibly inferior. Even the bearing was about half the size of the original.
Needless to say, it lasted about a week. Emails went unanswered, so I never went back.
