New Delhi gang rape leader commits suicide. Thoughts?

Main accused in Delhi gang-rape commits suicide - Yahoo!7
    Interesting read.
I've normally got a bit of a cast iron stomach reading articles about violent crimes, as I see a fair few of them in my uni course, but I couldn't help but feel totally repulsed reading the information about this case.
If you ask me, this is his final act of cowardice.
I can also appreciate the slightly twisted irony of the claims he supposedly made to his father.
Consider me cold, cruel, whatever you like, but all I could think of reading this article was "what if it was my girlfriend this happened to".
No loss, zero ****s given IMHO, but I'm interested to see what the greater community of AULRO thinks of this.
    Cheers

    Hard to tell.

    Hello from Brisbane.

This particularly horrific case and the apparent suicide of one of the perpetrators both leave me wondering what it's all about.

I am sure that it has and will continue to generate a lot of mixed feelings both to the crime and the place or culture in which it occurred.

All I know for sure is that I am glad I don't live there...........

My thoughts exactly, doesn't matter where you are in the world, there's no excuse for such a vile display towards your fellow human beings IMO.

dont care one way or another. If he suicided, it isnt fair he got choose his own way out. If he was murdered, no big loss; I only regret he didnt have the pleasure of an iron bar up his you know what before he died
If he was not guilty however... thats a completely different kettle of fish.

India is an amazing place with some amazing people, and FWIW even more horrific crimes have been committed here, and I'll leave it at that.

If he genuinely has admitted his guilt, then good riddance to an inhuman being.

If he had not, then it is an extra tragedy to add to the already terrible case.

That's actually class and caste, so discriminatory, not racist, and yes the class and caste system is plain wrong.

FWIW class and caste has been illegal/outlawed since Independence in 1948, but it's hard to change eons of behaviour which some will use to maintain control of others, and I stand by my 'amazing place with some amazing people' comment.
