Thread: Christmas lights banned in Cardwell???

Neighbours each side are pretty keen on the Christmas lights and their displays get more complex each year, so I put some up to fill the black gap between their houses. This year we're buying solar lights so no effect on the power bill.
Its just a bit of fun.
Mind you, we visited the Brisbane street which was judged to have the best Christmas lights display last week and the traffic was pretty bad. Most of the street was particpating and raising money for a charity by selling souvenirs and for photos, but I felt a bit sorry for those residents not participating as the traffic and noise could have gotten a bit too much after a few days, I think.

IIRC it was mid October and the Jewish Hanukkah ended on the 5th December, so
offering them greetings for either of those religious days only shown one's
    ignorance of other faiths.
    IMHO uncalled for.
I think to a normally pedantic reader, one would accept it as a general statement not specific to now.
As Ramadan is well publicised, most will know when it starts and ends.

IMHO Very appropriate, You don't offer someone happy birthday three months after their anniversary. Nor do you commemorate ANZAC day in July. Its the same with religious holidays lest you demonstrate the Christian ignorance of all things Islam.

It is why I said in the post before yours, to reply to a merry Christmas compliment with a health and happiness you are being courteous and offering a genuine compliment instead of offering something that passed three months before.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Sadly, not my quote. That fellow Anon wrote it.

Oh, and please don't try to self censor. You end up being told you're a naughty boy for trying to dodge the swear filter.

lets just blow this thread right open.......which end of a turd is the clean end?....the "round end" or the "tapered end"?

never thought I'd ever write something like this on xmas day.....

but....I'm a skeptic and don't care for or recognise any religion.....I just enjoy making the most of any holiday

I do wish everyone a Merry /Happy Xmas though and have a Happy Holiday while you are enjoying it.....

I'll let you work that one out. I'm looking forward to reading your research in the tutorials section.
