    Totally agree

I was talking to a bloke the other day about my disco and when he was finished taking the **** out of it.

I pointed out what it had on it and what fuel economy it will do.
He was shocked and then I told him I paid $1800 for it.

I then said thanks to him because of people like him going on how crap they were , makes them a very cheap good 4x4. So I said thanks to him.

Left him shocked and he did know what to say.

I shocked a guy at Orimbah who was there in toyota

I had just driven up the hill section with the sticking out boulder that likes to take off peoples roofs with wheels in the air and all
he proceeded to tell me how he paid nealry 10,000 all up for his suspension.

I told him I paid 500bux for mine new shipped in from the UK
I got ones of those surprised approving type nods

probably couldn't believe that a discovery on 245's with a girl driving just did what his built up monster truck just did
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

I had this very conversation today while fueling up. A mid 50's man, came over to me and said to me I looked too young to have the SICKNESS for Defenders. I just responded that maybe Im ageing early. He then continued to tell me how a friend of his owned one and how they always had to go search for him because he was broken down etc and he hoped they have sorted out all the problems in them, and once he drove a LC and then a Patrol, he would never touch anything other then Japances. I just said I really liked the car and drove Prados and LC Troopies all my mining career and just couldnt see myself buying one. He wished me good luck with it and went on his way. Im 6'3" 105kg and I would say appear at the upper level athletic. That didnt seem to stop this guy from telling me how crap he felt they were. MOst of the time, I get guys and good looking girls tell me its a nice RIG.

My whole family questioned my sanity when I bought the Classic, #1 son was particularly scathing about the seats, lack of legroom Front & Rear, no headroom, stupidly impossible driving position, gutless/thirsty V8 (agree 200% there...) idiotic, unreliable brakes - popped a hose recently - and generally a Piece of You-Know-What.

Funny, since borrowing it to commute... he now insists I fix a few little issues so he can go beach-bashing..... He even paid to have 2 of my near-new spare tyres fitted... hinting at the need for me to fit a matching pair...

    - On HIS car....

Does'nt complain about the fuel either... just drives a lot less...

having owned patrol and land cruiser i reckon the LR is just the ****, weirdo lucas electrics, pain in the ass overheating - whatever it just is… can remember going shooting when i was a kid in uncle max's landy,it was a pile of junk but we went absolutely everywhere covered in mud, gun dogs fallen on top of us, ferrets chompin at the bit to bite something, the ol boy telling me to pack his pipe just great stuff.

i just thought the landy i got now, already got some drama's but what the.. doesn't matter bloody car was cheap as and i sort a cpl prob out its gonna be a pearler…

BTW the pile of junk land cruiser that i had used to get bogged where the patrol never did, sit in it for a few hours driven and get a numb ass, heap of junk will never have one of them again.

Got pulled over at an RBT on Friday night in my Defender. Moved up to the policewomen for my turn at the head of the queue.

First thing she says is "Cool car, my boyfriend wants one of these so bad...." Made my evening

    Nice Zeds!!!

I've got an early '74 260 2 seater, I still remember the shocked looks on my mates faces after a quick blast. Certainly put their Falcodores in a new light.
