I am lost and disoriented under a Disco II and recent RR's. I suspect Freelanders too.

Open the bonnet on the recent models and it is shrouded in plastic mystery. What are they trying to cover up? A Victorian (as in Queen) "I am not amused", "out of sight out of mind" attitude to the infernal [sic] combustion engine.

They say that survival has to do with adaptability.

I prefer the KISS principal. It is robust and long lived.

I ask: "what has really changed that requires adaptation?"

sorry one_iota,,
its the way of the world,,

IF you need to check under the bonnet( and its NOT a requirement)
everything is colour coordinated so YOU know what NOT to touch,,,

If you REALLY REALLY need to check the oil,, its that yellow thing,, DO NOT touch anything else!!!!
When the new D3 is ten years old all these worries will be replaced by OTHER things,,,

movement by very small joystick,( check out the new CAT bobcats! )
heads-up display GAMES!
Drive ALONGSIDE food vendors, ( yes THAT BP add will happen,,)

I'm not saying these things are good,,, or bad
just you and I cant stop them,,,

The commodore drivers of the world will demand it,,,,

whew,,,

Sure its a nice looking "truck"? but it is just going to be another vehicle in a already congested market

Where's the ute(for Vlad ) where's the cab and chassis, that's right no chassis

For me any new "Defender" needs to show a direct link to the series 1 where it all started
If it doesn't have a Ute and cab-chassis option then its NOT a Defender.

Not even a real Land Rover for that matter.

Careful ? Why start now ?

And we were talking about a Disco ute in another thread somewhere, so if LR won't do it, someone else will.

And as for your location... miles away from where ?
