Ron, pull ya finger out, i really cant see how you wont enjoy yourself.
My parents just came back from a month away in Germany, Switzerland, Italy , Croatia and i would have killed to have been with them - even with the kids.
Only about 3 weeks to go and I still haven't even looked at the 'net to see where we might go. We have a very large map of the UK on the wall for planning but I haven't looked at it either. Late last year We also bought a very thick book on places to visit in the UK but I haven't even opened it. My wife has.
I simply cannot get interested in the trip. My wife has been watching Coast and other similar programmes but I haven't watched any.

Hmm, Ron the important thing is that Elizabeth's trip is not spoiled once it is underway.
Be brave.
Hi Ron,
If you are in the uk for the 2nd - 3rd August, I'd thoroughly recommend that you find some accommodation in Cheltenham for a few days , then wander along to Prescott for a really exciting weekend
This event is amazing and I'm sure you would enjoy it, the setting is beautiful, good food, good wine, wonderful machinery.......

I've just been informed everythings booked for usso, if I've got to do it, I think it's only fair that others should! We're even going for longer than 1st planned & will be spending a week in Italy. I may get to check out the Popemobile
It's still a Rangie isn't it?
Don't forget the Beaulieu Motor Museum if you're near it. Have a good trip!
Steve
Hi Jerry, no, won't be there in time. I'll have to look to see where Cheltenham is.

Wow.. I've just spent some time reading this thread and I have to say that I found myself shaking my head at you several times Ron.. I have to assume that your wife and therefore your wifes feelings are important to you. I am sure that in your daily life she has done plenty of unselfish things to make you happy (like taking holidays by yourself) because I am sure that she loves you and wants you to be happy also. Sometimes in life you just need to suck it up and take one for the team.
Pick up that book and at least try to get interested, because if you get on that plane with that pathetic attitude of yours then you are bound to ruin not only your holiday but hers as well.. it's almost as if you have decided ahead of time that you don't want to do it so you're going to make her (and yourself) pay by being as miserable as you possibly can. Life is too short for sulky boy temper tantrums. One day your wife may not be there and I bet then that you would give your right arm to be able to take her on a holiday to Europe to see her birthplace.
If you feel that you really have a depression issue then do yourself and those around you a favour and visit your doc.. you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Once again, life is too short to live it in misery.
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.” - ― Charles R. Swindoll
