I was driving through a country town in the Commodore the other day.
As I was flying through the town (60km/h in a 60km/h zone) I must have passed the local law sitting in a side street. Upon seeing a crappy blue Commodore zoom past, Snr. Sgt. Banner decided to give chase. He sped off in hot pursuit.
Oblivious to the goings on behind me, I drove past a yard selling caravans, There was quite a nice old one in the back. Do I turn around and have a proper look? I glanced in my rear view mirrors to see if it was safe to do so only to see a police car screaming up behind me in an intimidating fashion. I looked at my speedo. 60km/h. I'm not intimidated as I am very used to it by now.
I can only imagine the radio conversation in the car behind.
"VK4 to VKC. We've found a young lad in a crappy blue Commodore looking at caravans who needs a lesson taught."
"VKC to VK4. That's Mickey Marsh. He's an old fart who likes caravans, trailers and other weird stuff. Don't pull him over. He'll have you talking for hours."
"Roger VKC. Heading back to base with the Maccas. VK4 out."
He then did a U turn an sped off.
This sort of thing never happens in the Mercs, although, I am told every Landrover in the riverland gets stopped.
will he be at Melrose handing out awards ?

Doug? Mick, its no good... You're going to have to adopt the correct driving style for said 'Motor Vehicle'... You need a set of mat black steelies with bald tyres for the rear axle... You need to wear a baseball cap with the peak over rolled, and sitting slightly to the right... You need to drive with the window open, your right arm out of the window and the seat back at 45deg so you're actually looking out of the rear RH door window. You then need to crank the base tunes, and to finish, you need to launch it at every junction in a cloud of rubber smoke!!! (The 'hero', 'angel', 'unit' or 'tool' sticker in the rear window is also an option)!!!!![]()
