Yeah, I do have to do something about the stability. It hasn't gone over, but I've been very mindful of it. Not sure what I'll do yet, but the plumbing fittings and a few small legs with threaded ends sounds like the go.

I have found another problem with it. It is very still tonight - not a breath of wind and it isn't breathing too well. The ashes have built up during the day and are covering the second set of holes. I'll need to drill more, and to open up the ones already there I think.

Here is our depot Arken ****en.
Not really suitable for camping as its a bit heavy, and it tends to eat trees at an alarming rate.Firewood is delivered via side-tippers

Despite its size it can be shifted whilst running, especially when it starts raining.Moving it to the shed door so we can sit in the dry.

It used to be mine, but I couldnt afford to run the thing,a good mate came down from Derby,it was much colder than he is used too, several tonnes of firewood went thru it that nite.We wernt cold

Now, THAT is an Arken ****en!

I think I'll put a chain on mine to move it. I rarely take a front end loader camping with me...

I am going the lazy way and purchasing one of these.

» Medium | Pack and Carry Firepit Kit $345 » Drifta Camping Kitchens & Drawer Systems

Mainly because of its compactness as space is at a premium in the Disco.

As for the OP, Gav, there is no pic showing on my screen.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

The inside of a washing machine makes a good firepit. It has holes and is stable. Don't have a pic (sorry), but I'm sure you can imagine. Then you just whack a plate or grille on top.

Yep, they sure do. Used to have one out the back when I lived up at Licola.

A bit big to take camping though.
