Yeah! you often get a difference between the sign board price and that on the pump, I always look, and I have driven off a few times in the last couple of years.

What's 'premium diesel', I've noticed recently at some BP's that there's two diesels available, normal diesel and a more expensive 'premium diesel'. What's the difference ?

Is it just a con to make people think they're getting a 'premium' product such as with 'premium' higher octane unleaded for higher performance engines ?

Did she take the photo herself? There's one doing the rounds on Facebook that's photoshopped to look this way, Caltex pump I think.

I'm sure the price is directly linked between the pump price and the delivered litres, there wouldn't be some sort of separate dollar meter

I've seen that one. it seems to be doing the rounds.

The read out is broken and the 5 is incorrectly showing as a 9 and the 7.9cents is just rounded up to 8.

    edit: is it this one?

see the 9 is different to the other 9 on the bowser.

The shot was of the pump itself showing the price per litre and the total for one litre was higher.Might try it on my local servo, get one litre and see if its different .

This is making the rounds on Facebook something shocking.

Honestly, has no one ever seen the older style tickers on bowsers get stuck?

The total should be $1.58 rounding, the ticker reads $1.98 because the ticker is buggered.

The bowsers are the secondary reporting mechanism anyway from what I've been told recently by the old mate working on the BP bowser down the road - they're all handled from the system in the shop.

It won't be. Any discrepancy will be with the volume delivered, so if you want to check, dispense into a vessel of known litreage.

    stuck segment in the display....

Plenty of the old bowsers with the actuated segments that read wrong, you just have to watch them when they do the reset dance.

I recently had a discrepancy between the signboard and bowser prices for unleaded. Didn't notice until later when I looked at the receipt. About 4 cents a litre difference.
