Sticks and stones...
....... seems I have a stalker  (pretty obvious who is trolling, wondering now if his cycling organisation has a code of conduct, at least for its committee members  )

Last week I saw one of those encumbent cyclists happily pedaling down the center of the lane on Albany Hwy.Talk about a death wish, talking country not city,he was wearing denim jeans and a dark blue top.He did have a small orange flag, not enough.
The truckies were doing their nut on the 40Ch,deserveably so,you counldnt see the peanut until too late.

We all drive, ride, walk and all do not want our family friends or similar hurt.
some poor riders, ( cannot to to much harm) Some poor drivers ( can easily kill people sadly)
Noted tonight the number of times car drivers had backed into or driven into poles and bollards in a shopping centre where I work. 200+ times in the last year. Happily, To the very best of my information no landrovers were involved. Watched a very well dressed lady back her today old car into a bollard at a servo last week. She blamed the servo!!! 30 minutes of her shouting later I finally got to pay, she was in the door way arguing still with a saint of a servo gent. I asked her to let me get past ( I said please) her glare at me was noted. I mentioned "Glad it wasn't a child you reversed over" then ran with a big smile on my face. My kids were in the car.
Point is she was a self entitled abusive fool.
Why cant we get along

I'm happy to move to the footpath to ride my bike, never have I had a near miss with a pedestrian. If there's a bike lane and no cars parked in it then I might use that too. Don't feel the need to wobble aimlessly up a hill in a 80-110 kph speed-zone.
Now if I wanted to train for an event, I'd find a quiet stretch of road zoned under 60 as that's gonna be an effort for me to beat. If I want to make it harder then I'll carry some weight or move the gears up.
If I want to commute on bike, then I'd find a road with a bike lane, if needed ride on the footpath between routes with a bike lane, or back streets away from main arterials. Simple really and I wouldn't force my position on the road and risk death or injury. Why is there a problem, and why are people so unkind? (copyright Kamahl)
Simple....? Perhaps for most?
It is because motorists don't actually want to harm cyclists and do look out for them where possible. I've ridden a bike quite a lot over the years and generally don't have any problems with motorists, at least no more than if I was in a car. I certainly behave differently on the bike due to the vastly different circumstances. I am vulnerable and ride to suit. I would suggest that any bike rider having a lot of problems would be better served looking at their own behaviour because it doesn't match my experience. I'm trying to be subtle here.....
Who are you trying to be subtle to? My experience is the same. I find I have more near misses in our 90 because for some reason people like to pull out in front of it.
When your a vulnerable road user it pays to be acutely aware of what is happening around you so you get to stay being fit and healthy.

"Rear ended" in a car or a bike and who is at fault? Law is simple on that topic. The person at the back must not run up your backside I thought?
Clearly changing lanes when not safe might be an exception but overtaking rules apply for all traffic you overtake period. Yes even bikes:angel:
I stick hard left honest. Some drivers seem grumpy, some bike rider are so try not to stress.
