Naming cars with people's names makes me angry!

    Anyone else?

"Hi I'm Bevan and this is my car Letitia".

No it's a Magna and you are a toss bag.

My Disco doesn't have a name. It's a car. My children and pets have names because they are alive!

Maybe I need a new bumper sticker?

"People that name their cars should be shot."

    Harsh but fair

    My Disco has a name.
It rarely gets referred to by it's name though.

Umm. No. You are anthropomorphising (giving human traits to) mechanical objects.

People who advocate murder should be locked up and the keys thrown away.

Then we can all go about naming or not naming our cars as we please.

Just for your information many of my vehicles are named.
    • My 6x6 Defender is "Ikea" because it arrived as a flat pack.
    • My RRc is "Vague", because the illiteration of the RR model "Vogue" apealed to my weird sense of humour.
    • My SIII FFR is "Ffreddy" (after Freddy Mercury) because it has a voice (working green radios)
    • The No.5 trailer that goes behind Ffreddy is "Mary Austin" because Freddy and Mary were coupled for years.
    • My ex-RACQ 1951 is "Bemboka" because that's where I found it.
    • My first SIIA 109 station wagon was "Kay" because Kay-Hertz my Budget.
    • The 109 Hard top I had at the same time was "Avis", because it was my other car (when Kay was off the road, some may remember the Avis trademark)
    • My first 1950 model was "Bexy" because its number plate was BXY-159
    • My D4 doesn't have a name, because an appropriate name hasn't come about yet.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

And those that tag vehicles long gone, should suck it up and move on

Do I see I Monty Python skit in progress
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
