When I got a road worthy for my Disco I had to rectify sagging head lining. It was hanging down at the front. I just brought some spray glue. Not a long term solution though. The foam just breaks away under the glue. Has started to delaminate now in places. That was only about six months. There where a few other items that also needed doing, so was not a excuse for a second inspection.

Depending on 'who' you ask... the spray-on glue is totally useless, or the Ants Pants, will poison you from the fumes... or put hairs on your chest... Girls as well as the boys !
Part of the Good Deal$ is that #1 son does the R/R and cleans off the old muck... Funny thing, the OEM appears to have been stuck on with a thin membrane of double-sided adhesive, as the residue can be peeled off in strips, leaving the backing surface smooth and clean. - Certainly better than trying to physically grind it off with wire/stiff scrubbing brushes!
Anyone used a heat gun to 'persuade' it to let go ? - Taking it off in narrow little strips is going to take weeks...
(I need an excuse to visit MASTERS and replace my cold & dead heat-gun...
- BOSCH or HITACHI for only $99 )

I was able to get the old foam residue off my headlining shell with a rotary scrubby thing like this one.
I then painted the shell to match the sun visors. i won't sag again.

Latest episode...
#1 son has phoned an 'Approved Inspector' and been told that there 'must' be a FABRIC headlining installed, same or equivalent to OEM. NO exceptions, such as painted finish, or plain felt stuck directly onto the card... gotta have the foam laminate, apparantly,,,
I'm baulking at paying $48+ gst for a spray can of High temperature contact adhesive... seeing as its only rated to 71 C. - Sold by the same Auto-upholstery supply house as the fabric ($35+ per lineal metre for 'Mustang')
