    Taking accolades is a prerequisite for being a Polly. There is probably a Govt Handbook on it

    They are also good at ducking responsibility when the do da hits the whirly thing. Same ****, different Handbook.

    It’s a big project.

    We have others we’re looking at on our sites to reduce power cost.

    the only reason any state is ahead of the others is because investors and businesses chose to locate their generating and storage systems where they did.

    it is becoming increasingly inevitable that state by state alternative power generation is taking over from the dinosoars and the coal/gas burners are doing nothing to stop it. In fact most of the utility owners are smartly investing in renewables.

    I notice the naysayers here have gone very very quiet.
    And good to see Victoria has their MOJO back. Their battery is bigger than South Australia's, of course

    “This big battery gets us halfway to the storage target we need to prepare for the closure of Yallourn Power Station,” he said.

    EDIT;
    South Australia’s giant battery has been credited with keeping the lights on, but also driving down power bills.
    A review by consultancy firm Aurecon found the Tesla battery had saved SA consumers more than $150 million since it was built in 2017

    Victoria will be home to one of world's largest batteries
    I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    Underground fast chargers set for testing in Australian mines.
    EDIT;
    The high-powered units will allow underground mining vehicles – such as the new light electric vehicle (eLV) currently being designed and manufactured by Murray Engineering – to be fully charged in minutes.

    AGL sets new storage benchmark with 1,000MWh big battery in South Australia | RenewEconomy

    AGL, the country’s biggest coal generator and biggest polluter, on Saturday a announced that it is to build a massive 250MW big battery in South Australia, with four hours of storage, making it the longest duration big battery to be built in Australia.
    Importantly, the 250MW, 1000MWh battery will be built at the site of the ageing Torrens Island gas generator, which is to due to close within a few years once a new transmission link in built from South Australia to NSW, and as more renewables and grid-scale batteries displace gas generation in the supply of bulk energy and key grid services.

    Quite a lot of work in SA at the moment with batteries, solar and wind.

    Interesting times indeed.

    Yes, looks like it's on most states agenda. Has to be a good thing.
