I hate to ***** balloons but Mae Moh lignite powerplant is very much active in Thailand as are several gas plants. It is by far the biggest with 2400Mw generating capacity.
The hydro power powerplant is 1000Mw.

I suggest that everyone have a look at the Electricity Generating authority of Thailand site.

    Bang Pakong Power Plant

I have actually visited Mae Moh open cut mine and driven around in it. The quality of lignite is pretty bad with lots of white coal.

The result would be exactly the same, you would be taking your teeth home in a bucket.

I've spewed some of my teeth into a toilet bowl, but not after eating pineapple.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Same energy source also powered algal growth that made oil and gas, grew forests and swamp plants that became coal and gas and on a larger scale exploded as supernovae to create elements more complex than iron, aka uranium, i.e. nuclear power.

All, thread has been good so far, don't wreck it with personal stuff please

Thanks for that. I hadn't heard about that plant.
I notice the plant is so worn out that six generators need replacing. It also has a very bad pollution record.
EGAT has a swag of coal and even a nuclear proposal, which have caused large protests.
Seventy percent of Thailand's power comes from hydro and much of the rest is imported from neighboring countries.
    Interesting.

That's quite true Mick. I can't remember the lat time I blacked out.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
