I've been in jails and I can guarantee they are not holiday camps.

My impression is that gaols are animalistic environments with predation, bullying, gangs, violence, threats, low IQ's, mental health issues, deals, exploitation, etc........
These are possibly the biggest factors that would keep me out. Its all too tedious.
Sounds like a Collingwood supporter [emoji48][emoji56]
But seriously - they still give them TVs, Internet, let them smoke, let them have visitors and other niceties.
All of this should be removed.
Also, no outside goods - just a photo of the family at most (a reminder of who is missing in their life)... nothing else that’s not supplied by the Gaol...
And they need to be put to work...
I think a couple of us have posited that for a mandatory 14 day incarceration for drink/drug driving - a full on high security gaol complete with hardened crims is hardly needed. Just being unable to sleep in your own bed, being missing from work, etc... thats going to really make regular folks rethink the serious need for a plan B when drinking.
They do follow strict guidelines, that's just a fact. It's very tightly controlled.

I like how you think..... [bigwhistle]
[edit: A side benefit is that in the event that the conviction is overturned at some later date, the wrongly incarcerated can be given a good apology, bandaids, and remuneration for all harvested organs, bile, stem cells, and blood. Then return to society a happy camper.]
