Only three. All the rest are true stories.
I think a few lawyers would argue against that, ha, ha.

The kid in this story had pleaded guilty and has made a good start at sorting himself out So Yes i hope that this does work out for him and the community.

And loving every minute of it. Keeps the mind active, but I don't waste my time complaining about life in general. I try to use my time to tell a story, for the most part. I have plenty of time for life, and live it to the full. I set aside a couple of hours each day for the internet, for sure. Not bad for a nearly 70 year old, who a short time ago could not use a computer. It forces me to remember passwords and pins, account numbers and the like. Like I said, keeps the mind active. And for the most part, I try to keep it positive. Unlike some.

To some extent I can appreciate why people post their unhappiness with sentencing here. And it perhaps helps to motivate others. Having that, instead of posting up random examples of.sentencing (not seen anyone post up an example of what they consider to be appropriate sentences...) and bitching about lawyers perhaps joining a victims advocacy group might be more effective (that takes a fair bit more effort and guts to stand up and be counted though).

    Cheers

police not doing a damn thing.
I think you are picking on the wrong people there eevo. maybe look closer and you may see its the court system that's more to blame.

I used to know heaps of coppers in the NT force , and 1 by 1 they are leaving simply because they are sick of catching the same scumbags, only to be abused verbally and threatened physically , and sadly everyone who is a by-stander seems to only turn on their mobile phone camera when the coppers retaliate , usually in self defence , but it gets posted on-line and all of a sudden its the coppers at fault.

I am not talking about people who have been cops for a couple of years, I am talking guys who have been on the front line for over a decade, some even over 20 yrs, and all telling the same reason for leaving. Sooner or later the lack of respect for our coppers and to go further our first responder paramedics is going to see people left to suffer and prolly die, and to be honest I wont blame them for waiting till they feel safe in their work place.

Eldest daughter runs a kidney dialysis clinic, they have had to lock themselves in a safe room at times because someone whom they are trying to help keep alive, comes in full of grog , or high on some cocktail of drugs and goes ballistic and starts trashing the place and threatening staff , cops take them away, court slaps them on the wrist, and they turn up the next day and expect to get the treatment they need to keep them alive. A couple of times they have refused until security arrives, usually the cops, and the so called patient contacts the media and they get seen as heartless people who wont help those that need it.

Those coppers that are baby sitting people who have no respect for the system ,or the people that provide it , could be out catching people throwing rocks at cars.

Just my morning whinge, now where is my coffee....

    Cheers

Come election time many of us vote for politicians or political parties that promise to crack down on criminals and sometimes we actually get laws changed to reflect these promises But when it gets to court even the mandatory setancing laws are getting watered down So pretty much the only way we can "Stand up and be Counted" is to join a Vigilante group because all the lobbying and law changes we are striving for are proving to be ineffectual.
This is something that I don't advocate But the Vigilante option seems to be becoming more popular in recent years.
Maybe if the people that change the laws and work in the justice system that live in the "Ivy League" suburbs were to experience what "regular" Australians have to endure on a day to day basis then maybe we will see some realistic sentencing coming from the courts.

It is pretty hard for the coppers to catch these little buggers if they don't know who they are, CCTV could be the answer here

Whatever happened to the neighbor hood watch groups that were all the rage a few years back. The white shirts and red hats ?
