I guess as part of the general public, I’m not sure how I feel about this.
Things like free rein on TV’s, the internet and stuff, no, I don’t agree with it at all. Your in there because you did something against society, so why should you sort of be able to live a normal type life so to speak. However, I do see the need for “normalization”, and if it helps “reform” then I could be all for it.
I’d hate to think what it all costs,, I may have missed it, but didn’t see it in the story.

As a cost benefit analysis to society, if the reoffending rates drop to a low level, then it would definitely be worth it, as you would get rid of the revolving door syndrome for many criminals. I will withhold judgement until the experiment has more data for the Australian setting. Gotta try something though as the current system sucks...
