New installations only or also retrofit?

Most commercial circuits,if not all, have RCD’s under a certain size,on new and upgraded installations.
Plays havoc with freezer rooms and cabinets that are full of heaters.
Insert doors are a real problem at times.
But with a good megga generally easy to sort when there is an issue.
And even an RCD will still give you a good boot before it trips, don’t ask me how I know.[bighmmm]
Bugger, time to get a sparky to have a look & try to understand the Rules.
Board up graded aprox 30 years ago....... now 1x Main 2 phase RCD. Stove 2ph & Outdoor unit 1ph not in that circuit
Everything else miniature cct breakers. No separate RCDs. AC contains a Crankcase Heater.
HWS 1ph not covered by RCD but board is 1m from heater & in full view. Own CB.
Was added to when Digital Meters were installed by AGL a year ago. Meter Isolator & misc Solar gear. Board at Max Capacity & location will not allow a larger panel.
Maybe I should just leave it & it all may go away? A bit like Donald does. [bigrolf]
I know, "That'll be a 100 bucks Mr bee" Kerching.
I wouldn’t be too concerned about your oven ac and hws as long as your power and lights are protected
An ex electrical inspector I know upgraded his switch board before the new rules came in
Seperate RCBOs are the way to go so if you have a fault you only lose one circuit not half the house[emoji1531]
