What about a Striped Sock is that any better? Rainbow even? My Pharmacist sells fancy Socks amongst many other blokey things these days ie. 3/4" HAMMER DRILLS ETC. After Shave, Condoms. Band Aids.

Just plain old World-famous-in-NZ woolen Norsewear Farm Fleck socks. Walking man socks. Not urban footpath loafer socks. Socks for boots and river crossings and mud and miles and miles of up and down hills all day every day. After a winter season wandering around in them all day they were usually darned socks with patches the colour of the cheapest thick wool yarn I could grab from the local haberdashery shop. Sometimes I had to darn patches on top of patches.

Sometimes those darned socks could stand on their own after a season of my care and washing...
