I offered the perentie to tow them out but they declined. Eventually removing counter weights by moving the crane again and lifting them off. Back to the interesting bit. The 200 ton crane extended 7 sections of boom arm and lifted a 750kg fibreglass pool across 3 back yards and into the 4th back yard. They didn't need the capacity but the reach, due to power lines. Was an amazing sight. A pool floating across my back yard. The pool guy said it was a record distance lift for them at 68 metres.
I work for a pool fencing company and we also do temporary fencing around new pools until the permanent fence is installed for several of the popular pool companies. I see a lot of crane in jobs, the real expensive jobs are the ones where they have to crane out the dirt from the hole as well and the base crushed rock etc even before the tub goes for a fly.
There was one last month that was $14k just in crane hire for 5 days + power cut in the whole street + broken cross overs + broken pipes + traffic control.....cheaper to move house with a pool me thinks!

I tell the property owners just to go pub for a nice lunch and not be home for a couple of hours.Interesting, Odd or Funny Pics II.

One thing I was amazed at, when I had access to the internal reservoirs of a couple of town water supply water towers, was the number of dead birds floating in the water. Mainly pigeons and swallows.
I know of a town that found a human body in their water tower. It had been there for sometime.

One of our babies having a drink during yesterday's showers. Apparently not too many people have seen a snake having a drink.

My father had a human skull for years. It was given to him by by an Indigenous Elder.

He had it identified as an Indigenous teenage female.I can't remember the age of the skull, but it was very old.

We inherited it,then decided to donate it to the Qld museum.

Still have a full grown lioness skin though,i bet it is one of the very few or the only one in the country.
