Reminds me of a sight I saw one Saturday morning in Punt Rd, many years ago. A Cortina was heading down towards the railway bridge. The last little bit before the bridge was always rough, where trucks coming down brake for the intersection.
He was carrying five bags of cement on his roofrack - and when he hit the bump, the roofrack decided it was not equal to the load; so did the roof. I don't know whether the roof hit his head, but if it didn't he must have crouched pretty low.
Or another occasion, a bit more recently, saw a car pulling a 6x4 trailer going through Kew Junction, heaped full of wet sand. There was a plume of smoke coming from each mudguard where the tyre was rubbing on the inside of it and the paint was burning off.
