A fitting start to a career in refrigerated engineering.

Redcliffe had all day shopping on Saturdays, half day Wednesday.

At least some of the footage is from the 70's (there's a Valiant Charger at 4:17).

Thanks for posting this..... it is amazing how something which is now so distant (and often not recalled to mind for many years) can be so instantly familiar. I swear, looking at that then, that I could still hear the sound of that fountain at Indooroopilly Shopping Town......and the subterranean thrill of coming up the stairs from the carpark below, next to the piping glowing green with ambient lights on the flowing water and even the distinctive smell of it all.

Really, they were ahead of us.We used to pack the groceries in large paper bags and take them to the cars of the owners.Part of the service in those days. And do home deliveries no extra charge,if thats what the customer wanted.

These days i try to do the opposite, keep the ice cream solid

Safer than a chain saw, I reckon. My father had three different sized cross cuts and I remember, as a tacker, often being on one end and thinking that I was a big help.

    Thanks for the film, Ian.

Thanks for thw Timbercraft Viveo Ian. Nice to see how the old tools are used.

I have a few of those tools but unfortunately the timber around here is mainly Sydney Blue Gum which doesn't split like that straight grained mountain Ash so I'll continue with the chainsaw mill.
