I decided a 190KW car would be very bad for my license. I bought something sensible instead...

Funny that you say that. It is exactly what the car sales guy said to us when we were buying. He said older folks need.....errrr...like...... the softer ride. Hrrrmmphh!!!! So we took one for a drive and yes - it was comfortable and made more so by its factory fitted decent tyre sidewall height. Then we drove the XR6 with its low profile wide tyres. No contest! Comfort be damned....we bought the XR6.

"A bit gutless" What is your cruising speed?

I would go for the Fairmont, nice comfy ride etc.
Why have low profile tyres and harsh ride just so you can pee blood at the end of a journey!
