I think it's a little over 2 hrs from Sydney. It's just over 3 hrs from Melbourne...

It's a complete PITA having VIC and NSW on Daylight Saving time, whereas in W.A there is none. So we go from a 2 hour time difference to a 3 hour time difference. Another hurdle for business on both sides of the country to deal with. Either all do it as a country, or don't IMHO.

At least 'over East', it's actually nice getting back from work (times fixed at 9-5) and then still have 3-4 hours or so daylight to enjoy doing other non work stuff!

Long balmy evenings are magnificent! and clock time is an invention anyway.

...I like variety and change, so I love it.

I wonder if it would be more of a PITA if there were no time zones at all?

    Daylight saving can kill some

Nearly 6pm and the suns up- I Love it.

I did hear that sleep is an issue. 21% increase in cardiac issues with one hour less sleep would you believe! Just for one day!!!

Get a 22% reduction when we drop it

That's what I like about DST.

Losing that one little super-important, ultra-imperative little bolt or screw that takes 3-4 hours to find .. that's where those additional daylight hours are nice to have up your sleeve!

I remember going to Auckland a couple years ago being near 3 hrs. When I looked it up before that post it was 3 hrs 15 min from Melbourne. Seeing as Melbourne to Sydney is around 50 min to an hour, I assumed that it was that much shorter flying from sydney

I suppose if I had a battery on my solar system I could literally save the daylight to use after the sun sets.

Yes I would love it ll year round also , at least in winter you might come home in the little remaining daylight instead of the dark around 5pm. I don't like it when it finishes, there is still room for daylight during that month.
