I see the leader of the free world has declared, "It's not a gun issue, it's a mental health issue". Of course its a bloody mental health issue, sane people don't go around blasting everybody. Make guns harder to get and there would be less mayhem.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

A local with a rifle stopped the shooter. And this would be vindication for guns , in the eyes of many. Catch 22. The young bloke in the truck did well.

Let’s see... I’m walking down a street - in Melbourne..
Suddenly some nut job in a Commodore comes flying down the footpath towards my family and some other people near me.

My immediate reaction is to move my family.

There appears to be a disproportionate and collective hysteria when guns are used by civilians to commit a crime. Particularly if the perp is an American.

In just about every corner of the planet, there are far more egregious crimes committed on a daily basis by some of the most sinister regimes in history - regimes where civilians may not be allowed to own a firearm - or where government sanctioned 'death squads' patrol the population with impunity.

Look no further than West Papua to find an example of what I am talking about.

And yet, you are all so concerned about US gun laws, where, I might point out, the right to bear arms has been upheld by the supreme court - but does not extend to convicted felons, such as the perp who committed this crime.

Not quite sure why "that's a copout". IMHO It would be the instinctive thing to due to protect your family first.
