You mention back a bit that you were having a problem getting travel insurance. Were you able to get cover in the end?Houston, Texas.
Arrived here on the 4th, but only got my wifi on my laptop to work with my twin brother,s wifi today. and I am not expert enough on a phone to even try!
My travel days are over, and I turn 80 today! My last flight was from Bangkok, where I have lived for many years, stopover in Singapore, and then Perth, about a year ago.
The answer is to get yourself a walking stick, whether or not you need it! You don't need to order a wheelchair, just hobble up to the check in counter using the stick, where even in America, you will be asked if you need a wheelchair.
From then on it is priority travel, including automatically having a wheelchair waiting when you arrive back in Australia, where you should also bypass the also rans clearing immigration and customs.
You may also be boarded before the rest of the rabble, but may have to wait until all of them have dis-embarked in Australia. Have a safe trip!![]()

Interesting day yesterday, sitting next to my brother driving to the Geoscience Centre in Houston. I don't think there is anything quite like this in Australia - on the I-10 inbound at 0800, eight lanes, plus two high occupancy vehicle lanes plus four lanes in the service road - in each direction! All moving bumper to bumper at about 25mph.
