My father once told me, "To use bad English is regretable...to use bad Scotch is unforgiveable".
Went on a bit of a Whiskey Crawl this arvo.
No. 1 son amd I headed off to 3 whisky bars.
Morrison Hotel - Naked Whiskey Bar
Good selection but no experienced staff to talk you through the whiskeys, as it’s also a pub it seemed a pain the the arse to tie barmaid. First three we wanted to try the either couldn’t find or didn’t have. Either was we Jagged two that we were happy with.
- Dalmore Cigar Malt
- The Balvenie Carribean Cast 14YO

Not Whiskey, related but......
No.1 son is heading back to Canberra today and dropped off my birthday present......
To my surprised he remember the conversation at Death and Taxes with the head barman, that they sell out of a particular rum very quickly. They say it’s the best rum in the world. The Bottelo also said this to No.1 son today. It was off course sold out the night we were there......
No I have 22 nips at my disposal.....will have to wait til the 6th March to taste test.
Bunderberg Rum - Solera

A Irish mate insisted that's the gods truth. He had got though at least a bottle of the Irish type and we moved him to a Japanese version which he still swore was Irish as St Patrick. Come to think of it we could have fed him bundy and he would have sworn the same.
Names are funny. Taste is critical and our own bias is often a own goal I think[thumbsupbig]
Interestingly tonight I felt like a Laphroaig, normally I don't like it and have had a bottle of 10 year old for a few years now. I find tonight that I am quite enjoying it with a little ice, strange how your mood influences that taste buds or vice versa....
Regards,
Tote
Thing that gets me about this thread is the 'title'. Somebody may have mentioned if before.
Lots of posts re some great Scotch drams, and all of them great.
But, and I am surprised that I haven't mentioned before, nobody has picked up on the spelling. That is whiskey. No Scot spells it this way. Irish is spelled like this, as is Bourbon. The Scots spell it whisky, without the 'e'. No biggiE.
Personally , Jack Daniels make the best whiskey.
They use their barrels once then sell them to the whisky people.
So, when you whisky officiants wax lyrical about your whisky , just remember it has a little whiskey taste to it.
