I see on the ABC this morning that a paper 'written by 11,000 scientists' has stated climate change is real and we need to act now to reverse it..

Really? A paper with 11,000 authors? Umm, no.

The program then mentioned one person as a 'lead author' which is immediately suspicious, obviously he's speaking on behalf of all these 11,000 scientists who he's contacted for contributions?
Yeah, sure...

Me thinks he's done a search and discovered that there are 11,000 papers which have been written on climate change which propose it is man-made and on the strength of that alone claims to speak on behalf of all...

And some wonder why others are suspicious of 'climate scientists'


I don't know how I'm writing this though.
According to Al Gore's Inconvenient 'TRUTH' I've been underwater and drowned for years by now. So that's how accurate a lot of those papers would have been....

I'll bet there's 11,000,000 people with tertiary qualifications who share this view.
There are plenty of graduates with science degrees willing to sell their signature, endorsing whatever view business is preparing to pay for.

i have a science degree, does that make me a scientist?

Dunno! Does an Arts degree make you an artist?

Well, if you go to the Alliance of World Scientists web site (Home Page | World Scientists' Warning to Humanity) and ask to view all the signatures of all the 'scientists' who supposedly have signed - you can't because it returns unhandled exception errors in the script. One would think they would be able to get their web site to function.

Rational climate scientists have been advising us all for 40 years. Everyone has ignored them. That’s the problem. Continuing to ignore them makes the problem a climate emergency

You mean 40 years after the 1970s when they were warning of a coming ice age.

Did you select 40 years because of this? Of course selective use of statistics is the hallmark of a good scientist.
