So don't try to tell me how to feel about this - this is personal.
i didnt say the greens. i said greenies. not the same people. sorry if i wasnt more clear.
i said local area, not nsw.

having said that, i went to northern nsw a fortnight ago to help fight the bushfires and saw many areas that had high fuel loads. some of it govt land, some of it private land. private land owners have their part to pay too, not just the govt.

having said that, wheere i live, as a private land owner, council says i'm not allowed to burn off. thats going to lead to higher fuel loads and if a fire comes though, a more intense fire.

its personal for a lot of people and i'm sorry to hear of the trauma you're experiencing. decisions should be make logically, not knee jerk reactions based on feeling in the heat of the moment.

Eevo, we must be in the same council area. Begins with an A & ends with a C.

Mick, I agree with most of what this bloke says but Binna Burra fire was started by a cigarette butt and it wasn't as though the Lamington NP was destroyed. This was in September. Our fire season. Has this bloke been to Lamington NP in September?
I have done all the walks there, including the Stretcher Track, and any sort of ignition in the dry weather could start a fire, whether rain forest or not. If you don't believe me, take a walk up to Ships Stern in the dry. There's a couple of old campfire sites there and I'll bet my bottom dollar you wouldn't utilise them then.
Rat-a-tat hut,a stopping point on the way to the Stinson wreck, was burnt years ago.

As an aside, smoking is banned in NPs.

The BIG difference between those fires and the recent ones is that there wasn't any Low Life Greenies or Climate change actovist's taking advantage of other people's pain and loss to score Cheap political points
Back then Everyone chipped in and helped instead.

About half of all fires are started by humans, usually smokers, or arsonists (see the above post by Bob), so there is nothing surprising about the Binna Burra fire being started by a smoker. That doesn't prove anything.
