If holden was spun off into its own "non GM owned" business, it would of done a lot better export wise and the company could of become profitable.
Which proves my point about them being the same company by your own words. 😉

And if Holden was so innocent why haven’t they tried more than just marketing BS to stop the sales fall? Down 24% in a year. I’m not the only one that thinks they are rotten and should just die.

Spot on my friend, and you've mentioned another very, maybe THE most important point. "Exports"...NO support from Detroit at all.

When the US Government bailed out GM, you can bet there were caveats that favoured American production and export, to the detriment of Vauxhall, Opal and Holden. Holden, being the smallest of the non-American subsidiaries, would have suffered the most.

GM is restructuring for a future based on SUVs, autonomous and electric vehicles and away from conventional cars. It is also slimming down in the USA while growing in China (which Trump hates). And it has offloaded Opel, so selling Holden seems to fit that trend. Australia is a very minor market for GM.

Holy ****! This has got to be something from '1984' or a really bad joke - Holden's strategy to hit back at the haters and mockers | The New Daily Holden's strategy to hit back at the haters and mockers

Why won't they just roll over and die. 30% down in sales in the last year, December 18 down 60% from previous December sales. Wonder when the'll have another round of cuts of Dealerships? Our local Holden Dealer looks like it's about screwed - the building looks like it's about to fall over and not even a sign of a coat of paint or anything to try and change the way it looked from 15 years ago - they must know the writing is on the wall.
