"Australia consumes around 11 tons of methamphetamine per year," Australian Border Force Acting Superintendent Joel Carruthers said.

"Thai authorities have seized crystal methamphetamine with a street value of almost $41.5 million, stuffed inside punching bags bound for Australia."

Bound for South Australia sprung to mind (The Song not insulting our mates in SA)

Get the feeling some one has a drug problem? 11 tons
Other trivia is should we check the odd boxing bag or two here if made in Thailand?Mine is blue not red so not taking a knife to it

Confiscated, that would probably last BF through to New Year.Btw no insult taken, I like the song & I believe it to be an original Sea Shanty, if not it should have been.

    Edit.
South Australia" is a sea shanty, also known under such titles as "Rolling King" and "Bound for South Australia". As an original worksong it was sung in a variety of trades, including being used by the wool and later the wheat traders who worked the clipper ships between Australian ports and London. Wikipedia

Mine is blue not red so not taking a knife to it But but but, if you were colour blind you might have a problem with said bags?

What you sayin' Willis? The Mess decks never rang with filthy songs about Ship's Divers? Yeah go on pull the other leg.

I bet they were sung on the two Ships that introduced my lots to this big Brown Land. viz. Marion & Shackamaxon (a Yank ship that one,but left from Liverpool.) They all arrived here in one piece by all accounts with littlies, but no dreaded ship borne diseases although many others died from Scarlet Fever, mainly children, from what I can see.

How we missed that one I have no idea but Arsey springs to mind.

    BITcoin going dark

"Bitcoin's global computing power has been dealt a blow this week, after a nationwide internet blackout in Kazakhstan hit the cryptocurrency mining industry."

Love Block Chain. Great tech. Cypto banned from china and now via a revolution (unrest) in Kazakhstan has me chuckling a BIT Trust is funny. I have Zero trust in anything dependent on shonky power, political or electrical supply

"Kazakhstan's crypto mining farms are mostly powered by ageing coal plants which, along with coal mines and the towns built around them, are a headache for authorities seeking to decarbonise the economy."

So much triva in that its funny.

    Chinses Moon shack

this made me chuckle "Moon Cube Mystery: Chinese Rover Finds It’s Just a Rock

A blurry image that China’s space program had called the “mystery hut” was a result of camera angle, light and shadow.
    "

A bit like statistics. Lies, Dammed Lies and statistics? From NY times
