The DIL's Father called me about something and mentioned he has a 2000L Diesel tank on the farm,it hasn't had a drop of fuel in it for 5 yrs.

Do you think i should fill it up he asked?

Nah,i said, and anyway, i think you have missed the boat.

And another problem with the tank is, someone stole half the fuel many years ago, there is probably more chance of that happening now than back then.

    Hi,
Lake St Clair Ranger did that a few decades ago, caught a reasonably prominent local stuck on the roadside a few km from Derwent Bridge.

Going by the occupants, the vehicle has had a GVM upgrade, at least.

    Being 57?

I am 1 year older at the moment. I liked yet and not a huge fan of G Anderson. Love she is talking the walk at 57

Reminds me of a cousin of mine and her husband, many years ago. Turned up at my sister's place next door to here with the two of them plus four kids and all their holiday gear in, I think it was an EH wagon, with a roof rack - and on the roof rack six four gallon drums full of petrol (not even jerricans). He worked for an oil refinery in Sydney, and could get petrol at wholesale prices......

Dirranbandi a few years ago,the river was rising rapidly threatening the town.Volunteers and the council had a heap of machinery ready to build a levee to protect the town if the river rose above a certain height.
The river never got to the level, but when they went to move the machinery, none had any fuel in their tanks.

Ever sat beside a person that didn't fit?

Once or twice a person in a seat beside me was a bit big for the chair. It was a uncomfortable trip for at least 3 people.

US Airline is now "Plus-sized passengers told to buy a second seat due to their weight under US airline's new policy

Plus-sized female passengers have hit out at a major US airline over a 'discriminatory' new policy that requires customers 'of size' to proactively purchase an extra seat if they cannot fit between armrests.
As of January 2026, Southwest Airlines has implemented a 'Customer of size' policy that now defines a single seat as the space between two lowered armrests."

I understand some will be offended by this. I often wondered if those of us with little baggage or significantly less weight should pay less

A seat to fit our size- Sounds like an idea to me.

A bit like saying that those who haven't had a traffic infringement for say,15 yrs, should have a good few credits in case they get one, which is never going to happen.
