Caputo, who has no medical qualifications, has been trying to gag Dr Fauci, who seems to be ignoring him, fortunately.
Trump appointee to take leave after rant likening CDC scientists to 'resistance' | US news | The Guardian
A quick look at the Wikipedia article on Caputo suggests that anything he says has to be taken with a grain of salt - his first job for Trump in 2014 was to run an astroturfing campaign. This says a lot about his methods. As does his prior experience working for Yeltsin and Putin.

One of the widespread conspiracy theories is that government actions are the primary cause of the economic effects of the pandemic. The evidence has been available from the Spanish Flu pandemic that the economic effects are more severe where government action is not taken to limit the spread of pandemic diseases than where it is.
Statistical evidence is now available from parts of the USA showing that the economic downturn started before any government action to limit the spread, and you just have to compare Sweden with its neighbours to see that the economic effects largely result from the pandemic rather than the 'shutdowns'.
This does not help, of course, if your job or business is in one of the industries that people are going to shun anyway when the refrigerator trucks start appearing in hospital parking areas because the morgue is full.

I'm going to propose my own conspiracy theory here:
Just watched the latest vid from TFL re the Defender they bought.
LOL!
small problem very early, that got sorted by dealer, new problem immediately after the first problem got sorted.
My conspiracy theory is that the Japanese car industry and component manufacturers are in cahoots trying to destroy the reputation of all non Japanese car makers, aided by every Government around the globe.
It's a well known fact that all Japanese cars are indestructible, and that their electrical components made to outlive the Sun .. etc.
For sure LR will be using some(if not all) Japanese electronic components in their latest cars .. and if not the actual unit(ie. brains modules) then at least the individual components in the main unit will be Japanese made .
That is, resistors, capacitors, transistors .. etc. All the best come from Japan(supposedly).
So when a module breaks in a new vehicle, gets sorted a few days later and then immediately another module breaks ... it tends to point to one possible conclusion.
All the unbreakable Japanese components go into Japanese made vehicles, then the Japanese electronics component manufacturers selectively extract the bad components, set aside for the parts that will go into foreign vehicles.
No other possible reason why a vehicle that was so thoroughly tested, one example has had such issues from the get go(about 200klms).
Arthur.
