Cancer. There is a lot of it around still. My Dad went at age 49, in 1957, left wife & 5 boys.

Today there is excellent treatment but back then they burned buggery out of him with their new fangled ray treatments. Probably he was a Lab Mouse. ****ed his voice box & chest was burnt to buggery but back then that was it or nothing.
Cancer is a lonely road, although many journey down it... My brother, who I never met, went down it via leukeamia. He was mom's first born and he was also called John, which is fun. He was diagnosed at seven, died two years later At that time he was the longest known survivor. Wow. My sister, one of three, got something they call glioblastoma multoforme IV, which is a particularly nasty form of brain tumour, at 60. Told us three months. She got six years. I still miss her, of course. Jan got maybe six months, we got six weeks. Mum lived to be very nearly 103.
The idea that there's a God, or even a fate, is ridiculous to me. If God exists, why am I so lonely?

Could it be because you drive a Land Rover.? No self respecting sheila would go to bars & clubs in a clapped out old series. You do drive a Land Rover?

Well they haven't in mine so far, John.

In wish people would desist from calling others anti-vaxers or anti-maskers in a pejorative manner. I am NOT anti Vax. I was in the Army ffs. Probably had more jabs than most. But I AM anti being experimented on, and I AM pro choice when it comes to medical procedures. I am not anti masks.I have a lawful exemption from wearing one but i STILL put one on when in retail as a courtesy.

If others choose to be jabbed, or wear a mask even when alone in their car then fine, that is their choice. I don't sneer at them. I just wish people would do me the same courtesy.

As far as I'm concerned, comments about vax status should be treated like politics or religion and be relegated to CA.

Since the evidence and science is clear on the covid vax’s then sorry but anyone who can’t sift out the BS on farceplant etc that produces such confirmation bias then anyone who is anti covid vax for whatever reason needs to rethink things.

There is nothing experimental about any of the vaccines, just proven science with more man hours committed to them than any previous vaccine in history - it’s just been done in such a short timeframe because of the 10’s of 1000’s of Scientist etc working around the world, around the clock in a unified manner to get it sorted. Smallpox, Polio and others never came close to having this sort of scrutiny and testing applied to them but we all had those and saved millions of lives over the decades with it, but now social media is here and a few tin foil hat wearing muppets pound the keyboards we don’t trust the science now? WTF???

No conspiracy, no experiment, nothing - time to build a bridge and get over it rather than bleating about it FFS.

Sick of whinging people slowing things up because they don’t like being told what to do - Grow up and act like an Adult.

Rant over - go get a jab. Conspiracy Theories - The new Utterly Ridiculous Thread or is it?Conspiracy Theories - The new Utterly Ridiculous Thread or is it?

if you think I get my info from crap social media sites then you are very much mistaken Gav. And no amount of shouting from you or anyone else will cause me to change my mind. The number of fit, healthy young athletes collapsing from heart failure after getting the jab is seriously disturbing, but the MSM doesn’t tell you about that.
As for slowing things down, what garbage. My status has no effect on you whatsoever. And “grow up”? It’s mature to make my own choices. It’s immature to be a sheep. In NSW, as of March 15, vax status will be irrelevant and you will not be asked. They have decided that the virus is something that they must live with. Now THAT is grown up.

EDIT: I have to add, if you had actually read my post rather than just seeing red, you would have seen that I wasn't bleating about anything. I wasn't complaining about the jab. I was merely stating my wish that people desist from sneering at those they disagree with.

It's also a little disappointing that you. a Moderator ffs, should resort to such an attack on an individual, especially one who actually likes you.

I've been giving this one a lot of thought over the last couple of weeks. I know a number of people who either won't have the jab, or only had it to retain their job. I also know a few people who are strongly against wearing a mask.

I don't consider any of these people "anti-vax" or "anti-mask". The ones I do however are those that choose to publicise or politicise their beliefs or let their opinion loudly be known to anyone within ear shot. They're not "pro-choice", they're "If you're not with me, you're against me".

I'm not going to judge you for not wanting the jab, although I always find there's an interesting discussion there if it can be held in a dispassionate and analytical manner. Unfortunately in today's society, finding people you can have those dispassionate discussions with is becoming increasingly harder. A bit like I love a good religious or political discussion, but being able to hold one without being condemned for holding a different opinion is getting less frequent.

So do I. In fact, I was with about 400,000 of them a few Saturdays ago.

Couldn't agree more. I only mentioned it here as I'm sick of being put down by people who hold different views to mine.

That last bit is precisely why I believe the topic should join political and religious discussions in CA, as it seems to be a bit of both.

Sorry if I was flippant in vax debates John. As a walking volunteer experiment/Covid Nova vax drug trial many would think justifiably that I am nuts. Noting Two Astra Zucchini. Two Nova Vax of unknown volumes and now a Fizer in me

I can prove I am nuts Sir. I just lined up 23 fairly large medal which I like but not as much as my service one

The running ones total over 1000km and if I add the training fun I suspect legs have gone well over 5000km running in the last 8 years and a lot more before the addiction bit me. The service one probably had me sailing tens of thousand kilometers in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. I skipped the Atlantic

    Our choices are worth considering.

On an Investment site a lot of investors get grumpy with Negative perspectives. I think they are helpful as it helps us re assess evidence or views in light of the alternative views.

Its always worth while considering growing evidence. It has and does change.

    Regards James
