Check the standard. If they don’t comply, complain.

    2 x 4wds aren’t any worse than 2x full size sedans.
    Unless you're a council.
But its length, not width I have the issue with here. Grumpy old buggers threadGrumpy old buggers threadGrumpy old buggers thread

The main street parking spots in my little village are short.
    Really short.
A standard Japanese ute these days has the rear of the tray right over the rear line with the front bumper right over the front line.
Impossible to back into with large cars in adjoining spots
The D2 swings right in with a parallel reverse park, (love the size after years with the 130) but the Trytoo is that much longer so I often park it in the car parks behind the shops.

Correct, but they will struggle to park at Woolies,or quite a few other places, that is without the block of flats hitched up.

Silverado is around 2.4m wide and over 6.0m long, way bigger thanD3/4 or LC200.
Add a bar and a tow bar,and no doubt the Silverado will e even longer, some models up close to 7 M long.
No doubt turning circle is worse as well.

Do parking inspectors no longer have a plumb bob to check the vehicle is with in lines and if not issue a ticket?

Not really valid when vehicle lengths exceed bay length.

Councils haven’t really caught on that vehicles are generally longer on certain groups.

The AS standard parking space is 2.4m wide and 5400mm long, but state and council standards vary.
Silverado 1500 is 2063mm wide plus mirrors and 5885mm long.
So the Silverado is narrower, but longer than a standard space.

Depends on the model, have a look at this, the 2500 is considerably longer and wider. This is the link i was referring to.
And the turning circle is huge, slightly larger than old Deefer...

My D4 is 5385mm with wheel carrier and bullbar.
Explains why it fills the spaces.

The Ranger LV is significantly longer and worse turning circle (Defender seems good by comparison).

I have in the past seen this done by councils as their bylaw will say have to park within the bay. If your vehicle is outside the lines for any reason ticket issued. Vehicle too big for space that is your problem please pay here

Quick walk into a court with sufficient evidence that no surrounding parking was suitably provided would see it **** canned.
