    ATO defends its communication strategy

"ABRS deputy registrar Karen Foat said it had done "heaps" to inform company directors about the new requirement.

That included through information in annual electronic reminders, by going through accountants who work with company directors, and with a wider advertising campaign this month, she said.

    "

Really? Not at all sure I have seen information on The New "director ID system" required in a week or two other than in two news paper stories.

Not sure at all that is effective communication!

Noting I have just asked for an extension from prosecution for two lodgements due to me being Mr Slow now. Hope that is effective communication

    YT "Handles"

A few weeks back everyone's favourite video hosting platform announced in a flurry of fanfares that they would be introducing "Handles". Wow! thought I. What could this possibly mean? How exciting! Well, apparently it means tacking some seemingly random 4 digit number on to the end of your already existing username. Doing this probably cost $billions.

I would have done it for half

    Half! Greedy ****er.

Maybe it was the same crowd that arranged the name change for the Bureau of Meteorology?

$220,000 ye gods! Folk still seem to call it "The Bureau" or the "BOM". Who organises this ****?

As James would say, "The BOM Site" is real cool". But not if one lived through The BLITZ during WW2 in London it ain't.

[QUOTE=NavyDiver;3171479]"ABRS deputy registrar Karen Foat said it had done "heaps" to inform company directors about the new requirement.

I would agree with Navydiver about the level of communication.
The first I heard of this was a letter my wife received telling her she should have a director’s ID. She was an Anglican minister, now retired, and has never been associated with any company or business. After checking the letter, and in this wonderful age of electronic communication, the only way to respond is by writing, with pen and paper, to the postal address.
If they had asked for bank details I would have dismissed it as a scam!
    Cheers,
    Woolly

Royal Children's Hospital Melb - 80 plus one per minute walk in Cat 4-5 meaning between the lines bugger off we are an emergency department!

Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne advises families to seek alternate care amid 'unprecedented demand' Link

Daily it happens in every Emergency Department

Really sick kids/People get delayed by not very sick people going to EMERGENCY departments. Not discouraging anyone who thinks they are /may be having a stroke/ heart attack or similar from calling an ambulance.

Common sense is not very common is proved so often its ridiculous

Had the same here when SWMBO cut herself and needed a couple of stitches.
The local doc had no intention of doing it,go to hospital was the comment.
