You'd better return them for a refund & request your correct size Rand, whatever "them" is.

    warning- grumpy plus bit

Child abuse- Unvaccinated baby and child with diphtheria. Northern NSW Hippies are NOT cool

I hope the kids recover! I think that will only occur due to very quick smart doctors/medical action which should not have been needed! Polio in the UK. The anti vax crew should be sterilized to avoid child abuse- That is very very grumpy as warned!

This strikes a chord with me - my father lost a younger brother to diphtheria in 1910 or thereabouts. And the vaccine was being manufactured in Sydney at the time, although I doubt it was available to a labourer's family in a small village out of Orange. But as a result, our family has always been very pro-vaccination.

It is often about what the editor want to tell you. For a few years now the rates of TB in London have been high enough that if it was a country it would be classed as a significant outbreak. Parents of young children are advised to keep them away from the public and inside until immunised. As it is merged into the national figures does not come up on radar

This does not seem to have much to do with what the editor wants to tell you. Quite simply, this is a disease that has not existed in Australia except for a few imported cases for at least two generations.

What we are seeing is it reappearing simply because of an anti-science campaign by idiots. This is one of a number of diseases that killed thousands of children in Australian annually until the introduction of routine infant vaccination.

Those opposing vaccination presumably delight in seeing children slowly choking to death.

Sad to walk around old cemeteries and see how many kids were buried as a result of Diphtheria in the early 1900s.

Polio in Oz. I recall quite clearly when in Grades 5 and 6 in primary school the fear of contracting polio was intense and a constant topic of conversation. Rumours of how you contracted the disease were rife and total fabrications. 2 kids got it and ended up wearing calipers on both legs for life. I have no recollection of being vaccinated.

Yes. Kids with calipers on their legs, kids who just didn't come back to school, and nobody would talk about it. News articles about wards full of kids in iron lungs.

I had long finished school before vaccines for polio existed.

Why anyone would refuse vaccination for disease is completely baffling. And exposing your children unnecessarily to these diseases is abominable.

Child abuse, John, failing to supply the necessities of life.
