				I lost my temper today!
Yesterday I drove a vandalised X-Trail to Cloncurry to have a few days off & to get the car to Mt Isa for repair.
After an uncomfortable drive to Isa (no windows in the X-Trail) with SWMBO behind me I drop the car at the repair place & we head to a certain cheap department store to pick a few things up.
After shopping we find ther is only 1 attended check-out on a busy Saturday morning with a very long line up.
SWMBO who knows how I hate "Self Serve" check-outs said she would go through the Self non-service check-out & I would not have to deal with it.
All good, until the last item which was a pack of soap for supposedly $4 except it scanned as some sort of battery for $35!
SWMBO being as tight as a fishes fanny swimming backwards up a waterfall noticed this just as she paid for the items. I said I would sort it!
Big mistake.
First the 1 girl that was overlooking 8 non-service checkouts could not give a refund or correct the problem. I had to walk to the back of the store to something miss named the "Customer Service Counter". This also was the Lay-by counter, the small electronics counter & probably had a few other duties.
After lining up for 15 minutes (stewing the whole time) I get to the counter, explain the situation & get asked "Yes, but you did buy batteries?" 
"No, we bought soap."
"But you scanned batteries"
"I just told you, we did not, we scanned soap."
"OK, I will give you a refund, it will be in your card in 3 days."
"Excuse me?"
"I will do the refund, the money will be in your card in 3 days."
"Then I want cash."
"I can't do that because you paid by card."
"OK, does it take 3 days for the money I just paid to come out of my account?"
"Arr, no, probably not. I will get a supervisor."
After another 10 minutes the supervisor arrives & she is in a mood. That's fine because so am I!
The supervisor starts going on that I paid by card so they have to refund the card, not give me cash.
I explain, with 1 or maybe 2 expletives, that it was their error not mine, that at the retail outlet I have managed for years it takes about 10 minutes for a card refund to appear back in the bank account & that if they actually had staff, check-outs with people open & more than 1 person looking after a so called Customer Service Counter this would not be such an issue!!
And, by the way, I would like to speak to the Manager!
For some reason they could suddenly give me a cash refund.
I did not get to speak to the Manager, apparently he doesn't work Saturdays.
After finally getting sorted I impolitely told them that their Customer service was atrocious, how many times had they ripped us off when we hadn't notice & to find some IT people that had some clue about IT!
I may have chucked a expletive in there as well?
By the time I got back to SWMBO she had thought I had died somewhere amongst cheap crap clothes.
I told SWMBO she could go to Coles on her own, I waited by the car.
Not a great day & I am sure I am getting less & less tolerant. Must be either the weather or old age?
