To stop incorrect refueling. We have a lot of that in the tourist season for some reason.
And we currently have pre-paid pumps which again confuses the tourists, if we were serving the fuel I would not require pre-paid.
BTW Pre-paid is you come in & pay for your fuel & then go & pump it. The locals like the pre-paid because they can not over pump & they only spend what they want on fuel. But it is a pain as the tourist have to be moved to the normal pumps & people pre-pay for fuel but let it time out while they are shopping. They also leave their cars at the pumps & hold other customers up.
I have to do a Cost to benifit thing but I figure a couple of juniors would make it viable.

Bloody Hell, Jonsey. Introducing a Human touch to fuelling? There's a novel approach. You never know it might even catch on.

Juniors could even clean Windscreens & Check oil & tyre pressures?

Naaahh, I'm hallucinating again. Forget I even mentioned it.

You'd then get calls to say they have put Diesel in my Petrol Tank, the car rides like 10 tonne Truck & I can't see out of the windshield, & my engine is smoking like buggery.

I remember when the last servo in Mornington, VIC closed. Down the beach end of Main St. He did driveway service and he wasnt the cheapest fuel around but he was inundated with old dears to get someone to "check the car".
I'm sure driveway service would take off again. Especially in the high retirees areas, like Mornington Peninsula, in partucular "Gods waiting room"....oop's sorry...Rosebud.

About 12 months back a lady, late middle aged was quietly in tears at the petrol pump next to me. I asked if there was someway I could help, and she said her husband had passed away last week and the car said it needed fuel. She had no idea what to do. Let alone which fuel she should use.
A quick lesson and a few sympathetic words later she was on her way but I wonder how many people are confused by modern cars and service stations.

    Morningon, not quite Rosbud yet.

Driveway service was great in Thailand. You would drive in, wave a banknote at the attendant who would take the money, fill the fuel, and come back with any change. The whole thing was run from a table on the forecourt so you could see the attendants the whole time and be confident they would not nick off with your money. Great service!

I think I've bought fuel at your servo in Doom Jonesfam, so I could see it working there too.

I am grumpy that my super balance has dropped nearly 25% in the last 2 weeks - I am sure investors must come from the same stock as the bogan dunny paper buyers - maybe they have pulled their money out of the stock market to buy dunny paper.

Don’t even have to shut off the vehicle Grumpy old buggers thread

We don’t wave the currency around. Just ask for the fuel type and value we wish (in Thai). Add a little bit on for the attendant and receive a free bottle of water with our fuel.

One thing that’s a winner is being able to interact in Thai. Whilst clumsy and cumbersome for me at the moment; I can get the basics across.

Servo on the north rd, I don’t take much notice of what company runs it (might even be an independent) but the old girl still comes out to fill the beast up whenever I’m running on empty (half a tank) and heading into Perth
