Bloody marketers and their advertising madness

Last week it was... "Black Firday Sale - Starts Wednesday".

Now we are seeing Cyber Monday "Week" sales.

The governments increases of the tax on tobacco now makes an ounce of tobacco more expensive to buy than an ounce of Silver bullion.
    Bastards.

I would suggest then that buying Silver is a better investment for a multitude of reasons. Grumpy old buggers thread

I was only being vocal with 'er indoors yesterday about that **** as a matter of fact, & vowed I would never purchase anything from a Business that used that **** in their marketing.

One has some standards you know.

Yep, I was very interested in a global movement slowly gaining momentum against the rampant consumerism sales like this encourages. On Black Friday they are promoting a "Buy Nothing" day and some shops are supporting this by closing business for the day.

If I wish to buy something I will buy it but I don't need that Yank (?) **** to spur me on. Quality of item, price & personal service will do it for me.

EDIT. It looks like the same crowd that uses Happy Holiday instead of Merry Christmas.

Much too difficult to roll and impossible to get alight
I have been smoking for over 50 years and have paid a small fortune to the government in excise and I recon I should get some sort of discount/tax break by now.
I became addicted to prescription opiates after my accident a few years ago and had very little difficulty in getting off that bandwagon.
I have tried countless times to get off the fags But have failed miserably every time

Maybe us hopelessly addicted old farts from a bygone era when smoking was not only socially acceptable it was a required skill should be able to access tobacco via perscription and be charged for the tobacco without the attached excise, Much like the druggies can get their hits at the methadone clinics

Ah yes Trout, smoking was a required skill.

none of my immediate family smoked, however ,one of dad’s mates would dig out the makings, place the tally ho on the bottom lip, roll the (navy something )?, strike the redhead, flick the match yards away , all this mostly one handed as he drove the KS 5 along the logging road. Us little tackers where enthralled.

... mmmm...sometimes that tally ho would skin your lip when you lifted it off to roll

when I was a soldier I found a paper called big bamboo......it was very good but apparently a favourite for users of other stuff.

many a time I was questioned quite enthusiastically by someone of higher rank than me as to why I used big bamboo.
