Spent a few weeks there between jobs. Doesn't take long to get tired of shovelling sugar.

I'm pretty Bloody annoyed!
2 weeks ago I arranged with my Assistant Manager that I would spend a week in Cloncurry for Christmas driving out today & back next Tuesday.
This was all agreed & we all seemed happy as she had recently had 5 weeks off.
A couple of days later she comes into the office & resigns. I think OK, 3 or 4 weeks notice, it will be all good.
She tells me she is leaving in 4 days! "What The?"
Next day we get a little storm, she tells me she is leaving NOW in case we get rained in.
I phone the boss & explain it to him & get told there is nobody to relieve or help due to the time of year etc.
Alright, so when is my replacement coming so I can move my stuff, get out of here & start my new job?
He tells me Maybe the 10th of January but maybe later.

So now I'm ****ed off X2!
I have had to phone my soon to be boss & delay my start date with the new job, he was very understanding.
I have also had to tell SWMBO that I will not be spending Christmas week with her & the explain why we should not get divorced or have bits of my anatomy chopped off, I can negotiate when I have to.
So I am driving to Cloncurry after work Christmas Eve, then back to Doomadgee Christmas night. Not my preferred plan but it pacified SWMBO a little bit.

I am also now concerned that due to my replacement arriving so late, my having to train them before I go & dodgy weather conditions I won't get to Curry in reasonable time to start my new job!
Yes, I can fly to Mt Isa & SWMBO can pick me up, but I would still have to return to Doomadgee to get my stuff, dog, car & whatever. Not a good plan.

Anyway, Merry Bloody Christmas to you all!!

Still, look at the upside. You will be a complete Man with no bits missing & even if a divorce is required, that will come in handy for the new woman in your life & that would come in really really handy. See Paul, there is always an upside.

So did I make it to Cloncurry for Christmas?
NO!
The past 3 days we have had massive storms & heavy rain, so I decided not to go in case I could not get back yesterday.
Turns out I could have!!
SWMBO was OK with it, she was pleased I did not take any risks crossing water etc.
It was fun setting up 3 of the kids new phones via a various irate phone calls from SWMBO who is device challenged.
All good, I spent most of Christmas day cleaning my house.
