Started off with cheapies, then moved up to i think they were BSA,we could only just cock them, they were pretty powerfull, and had a scope.
Cleaned up heaps of rabbits left over from the Greyhound kennels down the road, taught us how to stalk and shoot accurately. And they bred like rabbits so always heaps around, the young ones were generally easy to get,the adults were always a challenge. Our dogs loved them for dinner, quick skin and gut, chop in half, half for each dog for dinner.
Rats in the shed were fun,as were cane toads.
Eventually we moved up to the old mans Savage .22/.410.Being single shot it was pretty safe, using .22 sub sonics, pretty quiet as well.
The .410 came in handy for the feral pigeons.
Still use the gun today.
