Interesting. I stopped 11 months ago. I now have to wonder how I ever managed to afford it, as my increase in disposable income is precisely zero.

Or it's, "Wow, look how much money I SAVED!", wherein the reply is usually, "yes, but how much money did you SPEND..."

Land Rover plotting electric ‘baby Defender’ – report

I know- Why is the mad sod puting this in Grumpy?

Read it and check the last few lines and you might be as well!

    https://www.msn.com/en-au/motoring/n...15105516&ei=23

Ok Given some get grumpy with links I will spell it out

"JLR is rolling out a new ‘House of Brands’ strategy, whereby its vehicles are separated into four core sub-brands: Jaguar, Discovery, Range Rover and Defender. The Land Rover nameplate and logo is being demoted to a “trust mark”, though it may still appear on vehicles."

    MY BOLD and MY underline.

    Disintegrating plastics and shoe rubber.

I recall we spoke about this a long time ago, and it's reared it's ugly head. Again.
About 10 years ago (?). I had a fantastic pair or Oliver work boots, perfect fit etc... but the sole started to stick to our ceramic tile floor,,, first a slurping sound - which progressed to tissue-thin black pieces departing the boot in preference to the floor. Needless to say, SWMBO. was not happy. Nor I. The de-laminated to the extent of walking into the bin.
Then two pairs of shoes cracked across the bend-point, new soles save them for another year or three, but eventually. - Wish I'd had leather instead of the cheaper urethane replacements.

Fast forward to now. Current pair of.... - can I name them ? - New, well-balanced leather walking shoes is... you guessed it, starting to slurp on those same tiles. So far, no chunks sticking, Yet.

Only saving grace was the 'Special' price of $89. Methinks I may be looking at bespoke shoes, full leather, just to get a decent life.

Anyone else finding their shoes, boots, gym-shoes are losing integrity in their plastic soles ?

Or maybe this...... Making HANDMADE Leather Boot Shoes - YouTube.

You’ve encountered the Sam Vimes theory:
The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. ... A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.[4]I’m
Sam Vimes is a character from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, in case you’re wondering.

How I mi s the Good Old 'Form S' . With a Group Certificate and 5 minutes, a simple wage-earner (me) could satisfy HM Tax Office.

And a refund posted back in a week or two.

    Then they simplified the language....

    I don't begrudge my agent his $$$.
