I made and sold them to the others for a few $. Honestly a bit of leather and a sharp knife was a time passed very nicely under the stars or sun a long way from any where Who said I was a (UC) Useless ****

Certainly not me James. A **** is useful. Sometimes.

    EDIT.
You actually had a gun? Did you stand in front of the Ward Room Mirror practicing draws & spinning the chamber & actioning the hammer like mate Clint?

I was very miffed & had to pay to have it put in a special bag in the cargo bay.
Still have the knife though I don't wear it anymore, now it is a Leatherman which I also have to remember to take off & put in my bag before flights.
I have been pulled up in Cairns for the Leatherman as well, being from Doomadgee gets me out of trouble, Doomadgee must have a reputation?

BTW in 1993 I flew from Cairns to Doomadgee with a 308 & .22 Hornet in gun bags propped up against the window of the plane where I was sitting.
    Try that today!

Just having a mental illusion of you carrying said Gun Bags into the cabin past the cabin crew who wouldn't have batted an eyelid. Back then.

    H #1 to H #2 Psssst, Careful Brenda, he's from Doomadgee.

I was with my Father many years ago,he had just purchased a new Vostok 12 guage from a gunshop in Brisbane City.
The gun was in two pieces,he had the barrel, while i held the butt.
They were wrapped in plain brown coloured paper.
We wandered into the Comm bank with these,i cant remember why, probably to get some cash out.
No questions asked in those days.

Anyway, with quite a few other weapons they all ended up getting destroyed in the by back, thanks little Johnny.

    Hi,
School cadets (1960s) used to take weapons home on the bus.

We usually had sling shots in our school bags, and a few balls out of bearings we got out of the bins at the local garage.

In the 1950s, as members of the highschool military rifle club, once a month me and my brother each took a 303 home on the bus, on Friday, Saturday right across Sydney by public transport to Long Bay range, and back, then to school on Monday. At least the OIC took all the rifle bolts home and to the range with himself.

Oi, don't blame little Johnny. Best to blame the Tazzie ****wit Mass Murderer that created the problem, not unless it was a ploy to get the guns off the street in case of an Aussie insurrection or have them checked for Criminal DNA.

There are more firearms (registered/legal) in Australia than every before.
