Great weekend- why let some else spoil it?

Had a ball with the kids in Port Fairy over easter. A very helpful Disco3 V8 driver Chris who may not be on the forum helped me with a little issue with my Disco. Sun Shine and perfect weather for Friday and Saturday and surfing waves on Sunday when the weather changed just a bit. When every one else was packing up to go home yesterday I got time to take my dad for a little fish.

Need just a little air in the trailer, ice and bait. Pulled up topped up air ran in and out to find I could not walk behind the boat as a car had pulled up a few mm behind. Walked around the driverless car and put ice and bait in boat listening to a 80ish year old give my dad a ear full about making her wait. As she walked behind my butt in the boat I heard a "strike three" comment directed at my butt

Little old lady turned to her car scowling at me.

Point 1 Normal I would apologize and explain there was no were to move the car and trailer and I had run to try to reduce any bother to anyone. The three odd and rude bits changed this to me tapping politely on her window to ask what her comment to my backside was?

The mouth full about how rude and inconsiderate I was took her a few minutes. When she stopped I considered point 1 then thought about my three strikes rule at work. I politely pointed out I would have been gone a few minutes earlier had she not gone on her little tirade and my movement was likely to be slower than normal now. Smiling went to chat with dad. He and I chatted before moving.

Told my little big guy about this while he reversed the boat for the very first time. He considered it and suggesting I should have apologized and gone back into the servo to consider it over a coffee I was smiling all the time honest. I think I could see fumes of outrage from the car behind me

She was behind you? That's her problem, not yours.

    Your butt has sensitive hearing?

I hope you told her that if you were indeed rude & inconsiderate you would have yanked her out of her old rustbucket & put one on her.

Clint would have & then plugged her, with no apology. But you are really too nice to do that, roight? And not in front of the Children.

Next time you will be tapping on her window with a House Brick or a Wheel Spanner.

Becoming a grump to a grump might make them happy and self righteous in their opinion. I love being polite to grumps especially if my lack of reaction or my later inaction will make them fume even more Stress is a item I am happy to leave with them

Possibly why I can't find my backside these days.

Sigh, she was a good manager.... Couldn't read a map if her life depended on it, but by God she'd make sure I could. I miss that. The sat nav can't nag in just the right way.. it never, ever, says "there's someone, ask him", and I can no longer answer "No need, I'm fine".

Lennon said "life is what happens while you are busy making other plans". My advice is, learn map reading. GPS may not always work.

Jeezuz James! Could I hire you for a couple of days? At the mo all I can wind up are two Ansonia Pendulum Clocks.

Be careful with your Politeness philosophy or you could be the one with a house brick through your screen.

Cool. A new windscreen to smooth out the pits in it paid for by a grumpy sod I would add that would see a firm "sit down citizen's arrest thing " instruction for the brick tosser backed by minimum force required to make them stay put until the police arrived. I would be likely to enjoy telling them the replacement windscreen costs while I sat on them. If they happened to be a runner I am now able to keep up and always enjoy long distances I did a Sit Down instruction which required quite a lot of 'minimum force' once in Sydney and once in Perth. Both happy outcomes

Ok, sit on them if that works for you, but while waiting for the cops call Clint, just in case.
