 School hols on the Newell spring to mind... I think their ego can't stand the idea of being overtaken by a Double. They prefer to have it behind them with its driver looking for the photon torpedoes, or .50 cal. Driving a coach back from Buller in the ski season was fun as well. The Maroondah Hwy doesn't have many overtaking lanes, but each of them is a signal for the folks too frightened to exceed 80 anywhere else to accelerate to 100.
 
Also, I simply don't understand the mentality, or lack of it, that provokes people to sometimes deliberately engage in a very dangerous game with a HV, something I have seen many, many times. FFS, let the thing go.
