I had one of those, carried it in my camper years ago. Shot a couple of feral cats in the Simpson with it. Could not stop as they would run so keep driving and shoot them out the window. Sold it as did not like the feel of the bar trigger. It was for using with gloves on. I think mine was a Savage M6 or something. They made another with .22 Hornet in the top barrel.
Why is there not a shooting sub forum in the Parking Lot along with other sports?

I dont understand that. I use google all the time to find Land Rover bits or Firearm bits. Never had a problem finding powder or primers or competitions, gunshops etc Never asked my age or if part of the general population.
Does not bother me as its Daves forum he can do what he wishes. I will go back to loading some .50 cal ammo for next weekend

Soft or hard loads 50 cal is a BOOT PLUS to the shoulder. I didn't feel it at all .

JT and my favorite old Navy- Sorry Miliary 7.62 was mild Chuck adds "In 1909, the British Textbook of Small Arms stated that 15 ft. lbs. of free recoil energy was the maximum allowable for a military service rifle. (The standard British .303 Lee-Enfield infantry rifle was below that figure, as are most service rifles to this day. This should tell you something.) The 1929 edition of the same textbook stated, in addition, that recoil velocity should not exceed 15 fps; above that velocity a gun-headache was very likely to occur. These figures remain practical maximums for the modern hunter.
Above this level recoil becomes increasingly intrusive. In addition, the effects of recoil are cumulative. The longer you shoot, and the harder the rifle kicks, the more likely you are to flinch. These are good things to remember when comparing rifle cartridges."

Bit my tongue and had to have a little glass of pain killing port with dinner so that I could eat easily, which reminded me that a while ago I broke my last diesel priming pump sight glass, which we used as tot glasses that my mate souvenired for us from the army base store where we used to service armoured vehicles, so that's two reasons to be grumpy.

Went to the dentist yesterday. Need to get all my little white ducks in a row for some of my treatments ( that I'm no longer going to have, but the dentist was booked ). Yesterday was just a filling. It's a never ending source of amazement to me just how far dentistry has come from my childhood. Almost painless. I commented on this to the lovely lady dentist. So, she drilled, and then proceeded to place a sort of clamp around the tooth under repair. This thing gets wound up with a sort of turnbuckle arrangement. Did I say painless?

Not grumpy with the dentist, just with myself for not trimming my moustache. It got caught up in the screw mechanism, didn't it. And, of course, I was speechless at the time.

Last time I was at the dentist he was descaling my teeth with a vibrating gadget - and shifted his grip on the handle of it - getting a handful of beard as well as the handle. And of course I could not make a noise at the time - as well as the vibrating tool there was a suction tube, and the mirror he was using to see what he was doing.
