I sure was grumpy when the hail arrived and wrecked the eldest sons 10yr old Kluga,a couple of months ago.

I had it here giving it a good clean and touch up as he was going to sell it.
Didn't need to much work as it was in VG condition. And it drove very well.Good to see that it had been well looked after.
I had just finished giving it a good polish, spent ages making the headlights look good as they had gone yellowish as well.
Removed the tailights that were full of water and dried them out.
Cleaned all the inside, ready to go into carsales.

    Then the hail came.
Anyway he decided to get the payout from the insurance company, then sell the car as it was.It had a roadworthy, done the day before the storm.
Money arrived from the insurance company.
Put the car in carsales, yesterday,it was gone in two hours,a guy turned up with the cash.

So he ended up with around $5K more than he would have got if the hail had not damaged the vehicle.

The grumpyness is now well gone.

Except the new HI Ace,two weeks old was trashed as well,it goes for an inspection on Monday.

    False Alarms

20 or so CFA people at a place beside The Ducks Nuts at 05:30. Not at The Ducks Nuts! No AM required in 24 hour format

Chatting with the Capt about the percentage of False alarms was hmmm The several people not needed dozing off in the truck from my crew after a long day yesterday showed a few tired bodies.

"Could AI reduce false fire alarms"

the Dumb V letting people sleep

Yes, AI is currently one of the most effective tools for reducing false fire alarms.
Traditional smoke detectors are "dumb" sensors—they trigger based on simple thresholds (e.g., "if air opacity > X, sound alarm"). This makes them prone to nuisance alarms from steam, dust, or cooking fumes. AI reduces these by acting as a validation layer that analyzes the nature of the trigger before alerting you.

My grump is improvements may take a while

    Hi,
    It's a bit of a worry.
A long time ago, it was all my mates getting engaged, then weddings, then kids and now grandkids.
Don't mention funerals. I keep getting them in clusters from different groups and in weird sequences.
People there today I recognised by a grin, or the eyes or voice and they are all getting old, bent and decrepit.
Not all are younger than me though, but some are.
So cut it out fellas, it is getting quite tedious and I'm getting sick of the corporate, uncomfortable seating and catered sangers. Let's have more barbeques and sausage sizzles in the bush, with the odd cool ale.
    Cheers
